It all started as a passion… A passion for people. A passion for photography. And a passion to capture memories… and a little bit of history… to be shared for generations to come.
Over 50 years ago, Harmann Studios began as a small portrait business out of Clif Harmann’s home. With the help of his wife June, and brother Wayne Harmann by his side, and the desire to share artistic portraits that captured their clients’ hearts, Harmann Studios was able to grow into the studio that it is today.
Passed down through generations, Harmann Studios has continued to be a family-owned studio: From founder Clif Harmann, to his brother Wayne as his partner, to Wayne's son, John, Harmann Studios has become a lasting presence throughout Northeast Wisconsin. With a strong sense of community, experienced artists in all fields of photography, and the continued desire to create real portraits that show the real you, Harmann Studios continues to grow our passion to capture your heart with our photography.
Currently owned by John Harmann, Harmann Studios strives to create unique and artistic portraits that will become a valuable investment for your home to cherish for generations to come.
Since its beginning, Harmann Studios has accumulated numerous artistic and community service awards, including Best of the Bay ten consecutive years.
Second Generation Owner/Professional Photographer of Harmann Studios
"I knew that photography was going to be my life-long career at the age of 24. I had accepted a job at Harmann Studios with my father as the owner and professional photographer of the West Mason Street location. Soon after moving to Green Bay, I photographed a child that had soon lost his life. His mother had stopped by our studio and I happened to be there. She came up to me and just gave me a hug, tears streaming down her face. Right there I knew that my work had a purpose, touching people's lives with every image I capture. It is so true that photographers and artists are the only careers that can stop time. It is an honor each and every time that a customer asks me to step behind the camera and create these memories for them to keep forever."
John is the second generation owner of Harmann Studios, but has been involved with Harmann Studios since he was a child. He was involved in sales and print production at the Sturgeon Bay studio throughout high school before starting his career as the owner and professional photographer at Harmann Studios in January of 1995.
Studio Portrait Consultant
"I have had a love and appreciation for photography since watching my dad run around with a 35mm film camera. Getting to create beautiful images and see our customers light up at the sight of the finished product brings joy to my heart. My favorite thing about working at Harmann Studios is our incredibly gifted and talented team here. Between our artists on staff, to our production crew, we've got a great group of people to make your memories come alive."
Sam has been the face of our De Pere studio since May of 2016. She has a degree in Portrait Photography and previously owned her own photography business for about 7 years.

"I love getting to work with, and learn about, every single one of our Clients’ unique stories. Being able to help them capture that story in a portrait is such a beautiful thing. Working here at Harmann Studios, I am able to pursue my passion for marketing while also incorporating my love of photography. I may not get to personally create the beautiful portraits that people treasure, but I at least get to experience their excitement when they see their portraits for the first time."
Ericka is a recent UWGB graduate with a degree in Public Relations and Mass Media. She has been with Harmann Studios since November of 2016.
